ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀವಿದ್ಯೇಶತೀರ್ಥರಿಂದ ಆಶ್ರಮಪಡೆದವರು ಶ್ರೀವಲ್ಲಭತೀರ್ಥರು. ಇವರು ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೆಯವರು.
ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣಸ್ಯ ದೇಹೋಽಯಂ ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಕಾಮಾಯ ನೇಷ್ಯತೇ |
ಕೃಚ್ಛ್ರಾಯ ತಪಸೇ ಚೈವ ಪ್ರೇತ್ಯಾನಂತಸುಖಾಯ ಚ ||
ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಇವರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತೇ ಬರೆದಂತಿತ್ತು.ಇವರ ಜೀವನವು ತಪೋಮಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಉಪವಾಸಾದಿ ವ್ರತಗಳಿಂದ ದೇಹದಂಡನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನೈಷ್ಠಿಕವಾದ ತಪಸ್ವಿಜೀವನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದವರು ಇವರು. ಸುಮಾರು ಮೂವತ್ತೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಪೀಠದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನನ್ನು ಅರ್ಚಿಸಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದವರು.ಶಾಲಿವಾಹನ ಶಕ ೧೩೯೭ (ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ-೧೪೭೫) ಜಯನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಪುಷ್ಯ ಶುದ್ಧ ಪಾಡ್ಯದಂದು ಪಲಿಮಾರುಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮೂಲಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ವೇದವ್ಯಾಸದೇವರ ಪಾದವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದರು.

Brāhmaṇasya dēhō̕yaṁ kṣudrakāmāya nēṣyatē |
kr̥cchrāya tapasē caiva prētyānantasukhāya ca ||
It seemed as though the above verse was written with him in mind. He life was religiously austere. Depriving his body by fasting and other such observances, he led the life of a assiduous ascetic. He remained in the peeta for about 38 years, serving and pleasing Shri Rama. In Shalivahana shaka 1397 (1475 A.D.) Jaya nama samvatsara pushya shuddha paadya at the moola matha at Palimaru village, he attained the feet of Lord Vedavyasa.
