Sri Shailesha Upadhya observed Vishnu Jagarana yesterday and listened to the Bhagavata the entire night. At the dawn, he performed the Viraja Homa, yet another important procedure related to the customs involved in Sannyasa. Thereafter, he took Sannyasa while taking the Vaishnava vow in the Madhwa Sarovara amidst chanting of Vedic hymns. In the muhurta allotted to the new pontiff at 5:57 AM, HH Sri Sri Vidhyadhisha Teertha gave him the upadesha of Pranava mantra on the Sarvajna Peetha. The junior pontiff of Sri Pejawara Matha, HH Sri Sri Vidyaprasanna Teertha took part in the event.
Tomorrow (11-05-2019), there is Upadesha(preaching) of the Maha Mantras mentioned by Shri Madhwacharya. It is followed by programmes on 12-05-2019 related to the ascending to the Peetha as the next head of Sri Palimaru Matha.
