Vishwa Sanjeevani Trust
Hard facts first.
- In India, more than 6 million people die annually from treatable diseases in India.
- There are only 10 physicians per 100,000 people in rural areas.
- While 50% of the upper-class has health insurance, only 10% of the overall population is covered.
Rural India has been a talk of innovation (by their urban counterparts) but nothing substantial has happened in the last few years. The thing is that healthcare delivery is a huge challenge in India and most players trivialize it to an extent that the final offering becomes unhelpful to the masses.
Vishwa Sanjeevani Trust, founded by Sri Sri 1008 Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji, Udupi Shri Palimaru Matha has been continuously striving to create disease-free villages ever since it’s inception in 2004.
A team of doctors, compounders and nurses visit remote villages every week and administer healthcare to the needy FREE OF COST. These villages do not have healthcare centers in the vicinity of 25sqkm. The villagers are so poor that they can’t even afford the medicine prescribed by our doctors. The trust also covers naxal-hit areas which find minimal medical attention from Govt and other medical schemes.
The trust has so far touched 6 villages spread across 200sqkms in and around Udupi region.
